Who should be screened for calcium scoring?
- Calcium scoring is suggested for healthy and asymptomatic patients who are aged over 50
- Patients with a family history of heart disease
- High blood pressure
- High blood cholesterol levels
- Smoker
- Diabetes
- Obesity
- Physically inactive
- High levels of stress
- Patients with a Framingham Score between 10% and 20%.
Any complaint of cardiac arrhythmia or tachycardia must be corrected before the screening takes place.
